Robin was brought up on a farm in Worcestershire before and during the second world war. His favourite subject at
school was art but he was discouraged from taking up painting as a career  as his art teacher felt that there was not
a good living in it . Having had an interest in aviation Robin joined the Royal Air Force at the age of 17 and became
an aircraft technician. Over the next 23 years he had many overseas postings and it was when he was posted to
Singapore the he saw a David Shepherd painting of the 209 squadron pioneer aircraft which reignited his interest in
art and he began painting in oils with a passion which remains with him to this day........more to follow as time allows

I left the RAF in 1974 and as a leaving present I gave this painting of the
Bristol Beaufort to  the Royal Ai
r Force museum at Hendon it was
transferred to RAF Cosford where it hung in the gallery, I was stationed in
Cyprus at the time.
